Zarif Engages with Norwegian FM on Key Regional Developments and Strengthening Bilateral Relations
In a significant diplomatic engagement, Iran’s Vice-President for Strategic Affairs, Mohammad-Javad Zarif, met with Norway’s Foreign Minister Aspen Barth Eid during the World Economic Forum in Davos. The discussion primarily focused on the evolving situation in West Asia and strategies to enhance bilateral relations.
During their meeting, Zarif expressed appreciation for Norway’s stance in condemning the actions of the Zionist regime. He also praised Norway’s support for the rulings made by the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Key points discussed during the meeting included:
- The necessity of strengthening bilateral cooperation to promote regional peace and stability.
- Continued dialogue on mutual interests in West Asia.
A few hours later, Zarif met with Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid to explore avenues for expanding mutual cooperation.
Zarif departed from Tehran on Monday to participate in the forum scheduled for January 20-24 in Davos, Switzerland. On the sidelines of this prestigious event, he will engage in a discussion with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria.
The theme for Davos 2025 is “Collaboration for the Intelligent Age,” focusing on bringing together global leaders to tackle pressing international and regional challenges. These include:
