Unity Among Islamic Nations: Pezeshkian Urges Collective Action Against Adversaries’ Schemes

In a recent address, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian highlighted the critical need for unity among Islamic countries, asserting that this solidarity is essential for overcoming adversaries and their conspiracies against Muslim nations.

“We believe that fomenting internal disputes weakens the Islamic Ummah. If Islamic countries, while making efforts to develop economy and promote livelihood and security for their people, avoid disputes and get united in line with their common goals, the conspiracies of enemies and ill-wishers will definitely bear no result,” Pezeshkian said on Monday.

These remarks were made during a meeting with Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mahmoud al-Mashhadani and his delegation, where they discussed various bilateral and regional issues.

Pezeshkian emphasized that, given the current global climate, the following elements are vital for Islamic nations:

  • Synergy among countries
  • Empathy in relations
  • Enhancement of unity among Islamic nations

He further mentioned that sustainable cooperation in several areas can significantly improve relations among Islamic countries:

  1. Trade and economy
  2. Science and technology
  3. Border collaboration

Additionally, President Pezeshkian addressed the ongoing situation in Syria, which is undergoing a significant transition following the ousting of President Bashar al-Assad’s government last December. He expressed Iran’s desire for an inclusive Syrian government that maintains tranquility and territorial integrity, while also emphasizing the importance of regional security and stability.

Regarding the crises in Gaza and Lebanon, still suffering from the repercussions of Israeli aggression, Pezeshkian urged all Islamic nations to support the Palestinian and Lebanese populations in their reconstruction efforts.

The Iraqi speaker echoed these sentiments, noting that Iran and Iraq share a unified stance on the Palestinian issue. He praised the Resistance Front in the region for achieving significant milestones despite the loss of key figures, underscoring the necessity of taking initiative against adversaries during such pivotal times.
