In a significant move to enhance bilateral cooperation, President Masoud Pezeshkian is set to embark on an official visit to Oman. This trip underscores Iran’s commitment to fostering stronger ties with its neighbors in the Persian Gulf region.

Before his departure for the Omani capital, Muscat, on Tuesday, Pezeshkian highlighted the objectives of his visit as a strategic component of Iran’s broader foreign policy aimed at improving relations with neighboring countries.

“We have a trade volume of nearly 2.3 billion dollars with Oman, which is increasing day by day,” he remarked, reflecting on the positive trajectory of Iran’s relations with the Islamic Republic’s regional partners across various sectors.

Pezeshkian’s two-day visit, initiated at the invitation of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, will focus on:

  • Signing several cooperation agreements
  • Discussing enhancement of roads and shipping connections
  • Strengthening trade relations

Additionally, Iranian and Omani officials will engage in dialogues aimed at:

This visit comes as a reciprocal gesture following Sultan Haitham’s state visit to Tehran two years ago, which was preceded by a visit from the late President Ebrahim Raisi to Muscat.
