In a recent meeting, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Iran’s Communications and Information Technology Minister Sattar Hashemi engaged in discussions to strengthen bilateral ties between Serbia and Iran. President Vučić shared his thoughts on the meeting via an Instagram post, stating:

“I had a sincere and constructive meeting with Sattar Hashemi, Minister of Communications and Information Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Thank you for conveying the message of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.”

During the discussions, the Serbian President highlighted several key points:

  • The confirmation of Iran’s participation in the 2027 EXPO exhibition, as noted in President Pezeshkian’s letter.
  • A focus on enhancing economic cooperation in diverse sectors.
  • Emphasis on utilizing existing capacities to expand collaboration in energy, health tourism, agriculture, and information and communication technology.

Furthermore, President Vučić mentioned that the anticipated signing of a memorandum of cooperation in the field of information technology aims to:

  • Facilitate the creation of data centers.
