The Dehdez caravanserai, an architectural gem nestled in the heart of Khuzestan province, is on the brink of transformation. This historical structure, which has been neglected for years, is set to undergo significant restoration aimed at reviving its glory and boosting local tourism. According to Reza Kiani-Qaleh-Sardi, head of the Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Department of Dezpart county, the restoration of this ancient caravanserai is essential for preserving its architectural integrity while enhancing the region’s cultural landscape.

Once a crucial stopover for caravans traveling through the area, the Dehdez caravanserai holds immense historical value. The restoration project encompasses several phases, with the first phase already funded by an 8-billion-rial budget. An additional 15 billion rials are anticipated for the next stages of the project.
