IRNA CEO Honors Martyr Nasrallah: A Remarkable Leader with Extraordinary Qualities

Tehran, IRNA – The recent reflections by the CEO of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Hezbollah’s late leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah have highlighted his significant influence as both a charismatic leader and a sharp political strategist.

In a special video program titled Nasr-e Mandegar at IRNA’s studio, Hossein Jaberi Ansari discussed the profound impact of Nasrallah’s leadership and his political acumen. The former Hezbollah secretary general was tragically assassinated by the Israeli regime on September 27 last year.

Jaberi Ansari shared his personal experiences, stating, “I had the opportunity to meet martyr Nasrallah repeatedly over the past two decades, and in recent years, particularly during my tenure at the Foreign Ministry, I was privileged to spend extended hours with him in each meeting—sometimes two or three hours, at times up to five hours, and occasionally until 2 or 3 a.m.”

He elaborated on his unique perspective, saying, “Thus, my perspective on Sayyed is both from afar and up close, having seen him from both angles.” This duality of observation allowed him to appreciate both the public persona and the private character of Nasrallah.

Jaberi Ansari reminisced about his years of witnessing Nasrallah’s impactful speeches from a distance through media, followed by intimate gatherings where he could truly understand Nasrallah’s essence. “My account is, in one sense, a scholarly and thematic one based on distant study, and in another, a firsthand testimony from close encounters,” he explained.

He went on to highlight several of Nasrallah’s remarkable traits, which included:

  • Skilled Oratory: His ability to communicate effectively resonated with many.
  • Charismatic Leadership: He possessed an undeniable charm that inspired loyalty.
  • Political Insight: His keen sense of timing and strategic thinking set him apart.
  • Unique Combination of Traits: Jaberi Ansari noted, “He was a man who combined various qualities, sometimes even seemingly contradictory ones, in a remarkable manner.”

These reflections on Nasrallah’s exceptional leadership qualities offer a profound insight into the legacy he leaves behind, illustrating the depth of his impact both as a leader and a politician.
