Iranian Team Dominates RoboCup Asia-Pacific 2025: A Stellar Performance!

In a remarkable display of talent and innovation, the Iranian robotics team, Mositto, has clinched a prestigious gold medal at the 8th edition of RoboCup Asia-Pacific (RCAP) 2025. This esteemed competition took place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, from November 10 to 15, drawing significant attention in the realm of robotics competitions.

Hosted by Khalifa University of Science and Technology, RCAP 2025 saw participation from over 160 teams and more than 700 individuals, including researchers, industry professionals, students, and visitors from around the world. The competition focused on AI-driven autonomous robotics challenges, featuring eight leagues and 15 sub-leagues, including popular categories like soccer and rescue.

This event not only showcased cutting-edge technologies but also emphasized themes such as smart mobility, AI for sustainability, and innovative solutions to regional challenges. The Mositto team, composed of eight talented students, achieved remarkable success by securing first place in the RoboCupJunior Rescue, Rescue Line, and Secondary League categories. Their triumph is a testament to the creativity and capabilities of Iranian students on the international stage.

Recent Achievements in Robotics

The Iranian robotics scene has been buzzing with success. Recently, a three-member team of Iranian students earned two silver medals at the 9th edition of the First Global Challenge (FGC), an Olympics-style international robotics competition held in Panama from October 29 to November 1. This annual event invites teams from various nations to design, build, and program robots to compete in a series of challenges.

In addition to their success at FGC, Iranian students also excelled at the TEKNOFEST competition, hosted by Istanbul, Turkey, from September 17 to 21. Here, they secured first and second places in the inventions and innovative technologies category, showcasing the potential of Iranian youth in robotics, artificial intelligence, and technological innovations.

The Iranian robotics and earth science teams have garnered numerous awards at various prestigious competitions, including the Federation of International RoboSports Association (FIRA) and the International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO).

At the FIRA 2025 World Robotics and AI Competition held in Daegu, South Korea, the Iranian robotics team won an impressive total of 11 awards. Meanwhile, Iranian participants at the IESO in Ji’ning, China, achieved four bronze medals, further highlighting the skills and dedication of Iranian students in the field of robotics.

The FIRA RoboWorld Cup and Summit 2025 took place from August 11 to 15, where Iranian delegations made an outstanding impact by winning five championships across various leagues, including the Air League and Sport League for students under the age of 19.

In addition, Iranian students aged 7 to 17 showcased their talents at the Kazakhstan RoboLand 2025, which was held from March 27 to 29 in Karaganda. This international festival attracted over 750 young inventors from seven countries, including Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

The event featured 362 teams competing in 23 categories, and more than 2,000 children participated in elimination trials, further emphasizing the vibrant and competitive nature of robotics at the youth level.

As Iranian students continue to excel in various international robotics competitions, their achievements serve as a source of pride for the nation and inspire future generations to engage in the fields of technology and innovation.
