Iran Calls for Action Against Israeli Impunity and Ethnic Cleansing in Gaza

Iran has issued a strong condemnation of Israel’s recent military actions in the Gaza Strip, calling for an immediate halt to what it describes as “ethnic cleansing” perpetrated by Israeli authorities. The Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baqaei, made these statements late on Saturday, highlighting the dire situation in the region.

Baqaei emphasized that the ongoing assaults by Israel on Gaza and the West Bank, particularly the attacks on shelters for displaced persons and medical facilities in recent days, have resulted in the deaths and injuries of hundreds of civilians. He stated:

“Israel’s Western supporters, especially the United States and the United Kingdom, are directly responsible for the occupying entity’s relentless atrocities.”

He further noted that Israel has intensified its military operations following the disruption of negotiations aimed at achieving a ceasefire. Baqaei accused the Israeli regime of attempting to forcibly displace the population of Gaza while imposing its “illegitimate demands.”

According to Baqaei, such aggressive actions will meet with the “heroic resistance of the Palestinian people.”

In his statement, he described the normalization of severe violations of human rights and humanitarian law in Gaza and the West Bank as an “irreparable disaster” for the United Nations and international law. He urged:

  • All governments to fulfill their legal and moral obligations.
  • The UN Secretary-General to take urgent action.
  • Concrete steps to end the regime’s “genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes.”

The situation continues to escalate, raising significant international concern.
