Ansarallah Vows to Hold Americans Accountable for Choosing Trump

In recent news, American and British airstrikes on Yemen have resulted in devastating consequences, including the tragic deaths of over 30 civilians, with at least 100 others injured. These air and naval strikes have predominantly affected women and children, highlighting the humanitarian crisis in the region.

The U.S. and British forces have executed multiple airstrikes aimed at key locations such as:

  • Sanaa (the capital)
  • Saada
  • al-Bayda in central Yemen
  • Dhamar, located south of the capital

Early reports indicate that these attacks targeted residential areas and vital civilian infrastructure. Notably, a local power station was struck, leading to power outages in the city of Dhahyan, situated in Saada province.

The Supreme Political Council in Yemen has strongly condemned these airstrikes from the U.S., labeling them as acts of aggression and expressing support for the Israeli occupation. In a statement, the council asserted, “Targeting civilians proves America’s failure in confrontation and will not deter us from our stance in support of Gaza.” They emphasized that “those who attack Yemen will be punished in a professional and painful manner.”

This wave of attacks occurred shortly after the Yemeni armed forces declared a renewed ban on Israeli ships navigating through specified operational areas in the Red Sea, Arabian Sea, Bab al-Mandab, and the Gulf of Aden. This announcement came last Tuesday, after a deadline set by Ansarallah leader Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi had lapsed. The deadline aimed to pressure Israel to reopen border crossings and facilitate humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Despite no reported operations from Ansarallah since the declaration, experts suggest that Israeli and affiliated vessels have been avoiding the waters specified by the Yemeni forces. The official spokesman for the Yemeni government in Sanaa, Mohammad Abdel Salam, issued a statement addressing the situation:

“The U.S. airstrikes on Yemen are a blatant aggression against an independent state and an encouragement for the Israeli enemy entity to continue its unjust siege on Gaza. The U.S. president’s claim of a threat to international navigation in the Bab al-Mandab Strait is false and misleads international public opinion.”

He further clarified that the maritime blockade imposed by Yemen, in support of Gaza, is strictly limited to Israeli vessels until humanitarian aid can reach Gaza, consistent with a ceasefire agreement between the Palestinian resistance and Israel. “International navigation in the Red Sea will remain safe from Yemen’s side,” he stated, while asserting that the American airstrikes signify a troubling return to the militarization of the Red Sea, which poses a genuine threat to international navigation in the region.

A senior official from Yemen warned that the recent attack would not go unanswered, suggesting that Yemen might intensify its support for the resistance in Gaza in retaliation for the U.S.-British actions. He firmly stated that “no Israeli ships will pass through the designated maritime area,” and expressed a determination to hold the U.S. accountable for its stance.

Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, a member of the Ansarallah political office, echoed this sentiment, asserting that “The U.S. attack on Yemen is unjustified, as the Yemeni armed forces are targeting the Zionist entity.” In a televised interview, he remarked, “Everyone knows we are sincere in our responses. To those who accuse us of being reckless, we say that those who align with the U.S. and Israel are the real risk-takers.”

Al-Bukhaiti underscored that retaliation for the U.S. attack is unavoidable, emphasizing that there is no distinction between the Trump and Biden administrations concerning Yemen. He reiterated that Yemen would persist in its support for Palestine and its opposition to U.S. actions, regardless of the potential consequences. He concluded with a powerful statement: “What sets this battle apart from previous ones is that it is now clear-cut, a battle between absolute right and absolute wrong.”

For approximately 15 months, the United States, Israel, and Britain have routinely targeted positions in Yemen, which they claim are linked to Ansarallah. In spite of these ongoing assaults, the government in Sanaa has maintained its military operations against the Israeli occupation, demonstrating unwavering solidarity with Gaza and showing no signs of retreating from their stance.
