Hossein Jaberi-Ansari, CEO of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), and Ahmed bin Saeed Al Rumaihi, Director-General of Qatar News Agency (QNA), have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Doha to enhance media collaboration. The agreement aims to strengthen news-sharing, improve coordination in media affairs, and facilitate the exchange of content between the agencies. It also supports journalists from both nations in each other’s territories. The event, attended by Iranian Ambassador Ali Salehabadi, highlighted strong Tehran-Doha relations and the importance of implementing the MoU. Jaberi-Ansari also toured QNA’s facilities, focusing on education and artificial intelligence projects.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned of potential military action if Palestinian prisoners are not released, escalating tensions in the Gaza Strip. This follows claims by Hamas that Israel is violating a ceasefire agreement. Hamas spokesperson Abu Obeida noted several violations, including Israel’s delay in prisoner swaps and the return of displaced individuals, alongside ongoing shelling. Netanyahu stated that if prisoners are not released by Saturday, “the ceasefire will end” and military operations will resume. Despite the ceasefire initiated on January 19, at least 118 Palestinians have been killed and 822 injured since its implementation.
Tehran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi will travel to Muscat for crucial indirect negotiations with the United States, starting Saturday.
