Ahead of the funeral for Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashim Safieddine, President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed deep condolences for the two leaders of the Lebanese resistance movement. In a message shared on X, he called them “valiant sons” of Lebanon, highlighting their dedication to defending the dignity of the Islamic umma. Nasrallah, secretary-general of Hezbollah for 32 years, was assassinated in an Israeli strike on September 27, while Safieddine succeeded him and was killed in a similar attack on October 3. The funeral at Camille Chamoun Sports City Stadium will be attended by Iranian delegates and citizens, marking a significant moment in Lebanese history.
