2.5 Million Visitors Flock to Kermanshah’s Stunning Tourist Attractions This Nowruz!

During the recent Nowruz 1404 holidays, Kermanshah province in western Iran attracted more than 2.5 million visitors to its diverse array of historical, natural, cultural, and religious sites. According to the provincial tourism chief, Dariush Farmani, this impressive number reflects a significant 16.1% year-on-year increase in tourism. The surge in visitors showcases Kermanshah’s growing appeal as a prime destination for travelers seeking rich cultural experiences.

Farmani revealed that out of the total visits, approximately 242,000 were to historical sites, indicating a strong interest in the province’s heritage. He also noted that over 308,000 tourists utilized various accommodation options during the Nowruz celebrations. This includes official residence centers, informal lodging, and emergency accommodations, marking a 21.5% increase compared to the previous year.

Currently, an impressive 85.6% of Kermanshah’s accommodation centers are fully booked, demonstrating the high demand for lodging during this festive period. In an effort to enhance tourist experiences, Farmani mentioned that there were 5,584 supervisory visits conducted at the province’s tourism facilities to ensure quality service for holidaymakers.

The influx of visitors was also evident in transportation trends, with 1,043,000 vehicles entering Kermanshah between March 17 and April 3, representing a 14.7% year-on-year rise. Additionally, around 73,000 tourists and pilgrims crossed through the Khosravi and Parviz Khan checkpoints during the two-week holiday period.
