Tehran Rejects G7 Accusations: Islamic Republic Stands Firm Against Claims

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has recently responded to accusations made by the foreign ministers of the Group of Seven (G7), labeling these claims as irresponsible and baseless. Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei emphasized that such allegations regarding Iran’s role in destabilizing the West Asia region are not only unfounded but also ridiculous.

In his statements, Baghaei highlighted several key points concerning the G7’s claims:

  • The G7 nations provide financial and military support to the Israeli regime, which is accused of conducting a genocidal war in Gaza.
  • He called for an end to the G7’s meddlesome policies in the region to restore stability and security.

The G7 consists of seven of the world’s most advanced economies, including Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Britain, and the United States, along with the European Union.

Baghaei further asserted that the Islamic Republic of Iran has both the legitimate right and legal obligation to defend its people and sovereignty against any external threats or aggression. He stated:

“Iran’s development of defensive and military capabilities aligns with international law and is essential for ensuring national security and regional peace.”

Addressing Iran’s peaceful nuclear and uranium enrichment program, he noted:

  • These activities are designed to fulfill the country’s technical and industrial needs.
  • Iran adheres to its international commitments and conducts its nuclear program in accordance with the Safeguard Agreement and the Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Additionally, Baghaei pointed out Iran’s efforts to advocate for a Middle East free from atomic weapons. He stated that the main challenge to this initiative is the occupying Israeli regime, which continues to develop weapons of mass destruction with the support of the G7, posing a threat to international peace and security.
