Envoy Highlights Regional Gains from Enhanced Iran-Saudi Arabia Relations
The strengthening of ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia is poised to foster improved relations in the region and enhance solidarity among Islamic nations. Iranian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ali Reza Enayati, highlighted this during a ceremony in Riyadh that celebrated the 46th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of Iran.
During the event, Enayati emphasized the commitment of high-ranking Iranian officials, including Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, to expand relations with neighboring countries. He stated, “Iran is determined to deepen cooperation with its neighboring countries.”
Enayati also remarked on the significant progress made in the last two years, describing the new path of communication and interaction between Iran and Saudi Arabia as a fixed and irreversible path. He noted that:
- Strengthening bilateral relations will benefit both nations.
- Such cooperation will contribute to regional solidarity among Islamic countries.
The ambassador expressed his gratitude to Saudi officials for their efforts in facilitating the affairs of Iranian pilgrims and Umrah performers, highlighting that:
- In the last season, the number of Iranian pilgrims reached 90,000.
- Approximately 100,000 Iranians have already performed Umrah this year.
Enayati emphasized that regional dialogue in West Asia is a necessity. He reiterated Iran’s commitment to fostering convergence in the area, advocating for expanded dialogue and the establishment of a regional framework to cultivate a common vision.
Additionally, the Iranian ambassador condemned the actions of the Israeli government, stating, “We must call for attention and support from other countries to continue the ceasefire in Gaza.”
The commemoration of the 46th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution was well-attended, featuring ambassadors, diplomats, heads of missions, and representatives from international organizations, alongside military and governmental officials, including military attaches from various countries.
