Rayan 2025 AI Programming Contest: Meet the Winners of Tomorrow’s Tech Innovators!

On Friday, the winners of the Rayan 2025 international artificial intelligence and programming competition, known as the World Finals, were revealed in Tehran. This prestigious event showcased remarkable talent, particularly from Iranian students, who excelled in both the AI and programming categories.

The programming section saw Ali Safari from Iran take home the top prize. Following him, China claimed the second and third places, while other nations like India, Vietnam, Armenia, Serbia, and Pakistan rounded out the rankings, as reported by ISNA.

In the AI section, Iranian teams dominated the leaderboard, with entries such as no Trust issues here, Pileh, AI Guardians of Trust, AIUoK, red-serotenin, Persistence, and GGWP securing positions from first to seventh place.

The final round of the Rayan international artificial intelligence and programming contest took place at Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, attracting participants from 25 countries across the globe. This event was supported by the Vice Presidency for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy and commenced on November 25, drawing hundreds of contestants from nations including:

The solo programming section, held on the morning of the final day, featured 60 participants—both local and international—who individually tackled nine complex algorithmic challenges over a span of three to four hours. The overarching goal of this scientific competition was to enhance knowledge, encourage global networking, and establish scientific authority in the fields of AI and programming.

Key objectives of the contest included:

  • Improving problem-solving skills
  • Fostering teamwork
  • Encouraging the development of innovative ideas
  • Promoting entrepreneurship in AI engineering and programming

In addition to the Rayan 2025 competition, Iranian students have recently made headlines for their outstanding achievements at various international events. They secured three gold medals and a special award at the International Science and Invention Fair (ISIF) 2025, positioning themselves among the top innovators worldwide.

  • Raman Nafarieh won a gold medal and a special award in biotechnology.
  • A team comprising Radin Abbasi and Sam Rashidi clinched a gold medal in engineering.
  • Matin Hayati was awarded a gold medal in educational technology and artificial intelligence.

Furthermore, Iranian students continued to demonstrate their excellence in international competitions by securing medals at the Yakutia International Science Fair (YISF) and the World Invention Creativity Olympics (WICO). The YISF was held in Yakutsk, Russia, from July 6 to 9, featuring 129 teams from 10 different countries competing in two main categories.

The categories included:

  1. Mathematics, computer science, and information technology
  2. Physics, astronomy, and engineering

In the second category, Mehran Rajabi and Alireza Jafarnejad ranked first with their innovative project titled ‘EcoNet Bin: AI-Driven Waste Segregation with IoT-Enabled’. Another impressive project by Moeid Rajabi and Helena Rajabi, named ‘Protecting Curious Little Minds: A Smart Child Safety Solution with IoT and Image Processing’, earned them second place. Additionally, Artin Radmatin, Baran Bahman, Mohammad-Hossein Ezzati, Niki Abtahi, Sarina Nosrati, and Baran Derakhshandeh secured third place for their project titled ‘Evaluation of the effect of using magnetic gear in improving the performance of process systems based on mechanical gear’.

Moreover, Zhina Aminorroaya-Karladani received a special prize for her project, ‘UVGuard Grooming Brush’. In the first category, Artin Salari and Amir-Abbas Kavosi Amin took second place with their project ‘Smart Glasses for the Blind with Real-Time Object Detection’. Lastly, Ilia Majidzadeh Heravi and Parsa Karimi Yazdi ranked third with their innovative project titled ‘CommuniMate SmartApp: An Innovative Solution for Deaf Communication’.
