Aras Free Zone Organization Officially Joins UN Tourism: A New Era in Global Travel Collaboration!

The Aras Free Zone Organization has recently achieved a significant milestone by becoming an official member of UN Tourism. This announcement was made during the 26th General Assembly held in Riyadh, highlighting the growing recognition of Iran’s tourism potential on a global scale.

According to Miras Aria (CHTN), Hadi Moghadamzadeh, chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of the Aras Free Zone Organization, expressed that this development is a pivotal moment for the organization. During the assembly, which took place on November 8, the Aras Free Zone Organization officially joined the prestigious UN Tourism as an affiliated member.

Moghadamzadeh emphasized that this membership represents a crucial step in promoting Iran’s tourism capabilities internationally. He noted that by joining UN Tourism, the Aras Free Zone Organization has aligned itself with some of the most esteemed institutions in the global tourism sector, paving the way for official collaboration.

Highlighting the positive implications of this new partnership, Moghadamzadeh remarked, “The UN Tourism plays a pivotal role in improving tourism standards and facilities, especially in developing countries.” He elaborated on how this membership provides access to cutting-edge scientific research, innovative practices, and essential resources that can enhance strategic planning, international marketing, human resource training, and advertising efforts.

Some of the key benefits of this collaboration include:

  • Technical and Advisory Support: Access to expert guidance from UN Tourism.
  • International Presence: Opportunities to participate in global platforms and engage with key players in the tourism industry.
  • Rich Resource Library: Availability of a comprehensive electronic library filled with valuable information.
  • Joint Global Events: Potential for organizing and participating in international tourism events.
  • Increased Visibility: Enhanced exposure for reputable travel agencies.
  • Tourist Facilitation: Improved conditions for foreign tourists visiting the region.
  • Access to Statistics: Availability of the latest tourism reports and data.

Moghadamzadeh further stated, “This position also provides us with the opportunity to actively participate in global conferences and collaborate with other affiliated members, including over 500 leading entities from the private sector, educational institutions, and local officials.” This collaboration signifies a shared commitment to enhancing tourism across borders and fostering international cooperation.

The Aras Free Zone Organization is now part of a network comprising 160 member countries, six affiliated members, and over 500 entities from various sectors, including academia, private businesses, and civil society. Moghadamzadeh considers Aras’ inclusion in this esteemed group a matter of pride and honor for the organization and Iran as a whole.

Interestingly, the Aras Free Zone Organization had initially secured this UN Tourism membership in 2019. However, the membership faced a temporary suspension for several years before being reinstated at this recent assembly. This reinstatement marks a new chapter for the organization as it seeks to leverage its position to boost tourism in the region.

In conclusion, the Aras Free Zone Organization’s acceptance as a member of UN Tourism is a significant achievement that not only enhances Iran’s tourism profile but also offers valuable opportunities for growth and development in the sector. With access to global resources and networks, the organization is poised to make substantial contributions to the tourism industry, benefiting both local and international stakeholders.
