The primary goal is to promote reading among tourists, especially pilgrims, children, and adolescents who frequent eco-lodges and traditional guesthouses.

In the first phase of this project, 12 library shelves will be established and made available to eco-tourism and traditional accommodation units. This pilot phase has already commenced, with the official launch scheduled for November 15, coinciding with the Book and Reading Day.

Khorasan Razavi province is notable for its rich array of traditional and eco-tourism accommodations, boasting around 230 units. This makes it one of the provinces with the highest number of accommodation facilities in Iran, attracting a significant influx of domestic and international tourists and pilgrims annually.

Mashhad, the holiest city in Iran, serves as the focal point for many of these visitors. The city is renowned for its impressive shrine complex dedicated to the eighth Shia Imam, Imam Reza (A.S.), which is surrounded by numerous five-star hotels and various other lodging options.
