India Reaches Out to Iran for Assistance in Locating Three Missing Nationals

In a concerning development, India has sought Iran’s assistance in locating three of its nationals who have reportedly gone missing in the country. The Indian Foreign Ministry is actively engaged in efforts to ensure their safety.

During a weekly briefing, Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated:

“Three Indian nationals who had gone to Iran for business purposes are missing. We are in touch with their families.”

Jaiswal further explained the steps being taken, saying:

“We have taken up the matter with the Iranian Embassy in Delhi and with the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tehran.”

He emphasized that both India’s Foreign Ministry and its embassy in Tehran are in ongoing communication with Iranian authorities to:

  • Locate the missing nationals
  • Ensure their safety

The three missing Indians have been identified as:

  1. Yogesh Panchal
  2. Mohammad Sadeeque
  3. Sumeet Sud

According to reports from Indian media, Panchal had recently launched an export firm specializing in dry fruits and apples. He took a flight from Mumbai to Tehran on December 5 to explore potential business opportunities.

Similarly, Sadeeque traveled to Iran in December 2024, and Sud arrived in the country in early January.

India remains hopeful for a swift resolution to this troubling situation, as the families of the missing individuals await updates.
