Ali Teymouri, head of the Natural Resources and Watershed Management Organization, announced over 250 natural resource projects during Government Week (August 24-30), backed by a budget of 5,847 billion rials (about $6 million). These initiatives focus on watershed management, conservation, and sustainability, aiming to reduce soil erosion, control sediment, and enhance vegetation. Key activities include building forest reserves, equipping nurseries, and constructing earth dams. Teymouri highlighted a fifteenfold increase in the watershed management budget and the importance of managing evaporated water. The organization plans to cover 20 million hectares in five years, promoting a sustainable future for Iran’s natural resources.

The World Congress on Kinesiology and Sport Science (WCKSS) will be held in Jeju Island, South Korea, from October 25-27, 2025, organized by Iran’s Sport Science Research Institute (SSRI) and the Asian Society of Kinesiology. The congress aims to facilitate global knowledge exchange in kinesiology and sport science, covering topics such as sport management, exercise psychology, biomechanics, sports medicine, and nutrition. It will feature a traditional scientific conference and a visionary forum to discuss various dimensions of the field. The event also includes the 9th Annual Meeting of the Asian Society of Kinesiology and aims to establish a unified academic nomenclature.
During the Arbaeen pilgrimage, the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) provided vital health services to millions of pilgrims, with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi praising their efforts. At a medical center in Najaf, he noted high patient numbers, with nearly 4,000 daily visits. The IRCS addressed the health needs of approximately 4.1 million pilgrims, including 1.05 million patient visits and 1.6 million medication distributions. They deployed 8,200 personnel, established hospitals along routes, and utilized specialized vehicles for emergencies. Iraqi Health Minister Saleh Mehdi Al-Hasnawi commended the IRCS for their exemplary collaboration in ensuring the safety and well-being of pilgrims.
