The 20th Fajr International Poetry Festival has been announced for this winter, celebrating young Persian poets and fostering solidarity among Persian-speaking communities globally. Established in 2006, the festival promotes contemporary Persian poetry and will feature works published in Persian with Ministry of Culture approval. Original poetry collections are eligible for submission, while an auxiliary category invites unpublished poems from aspiring poets. A special section, “The Moon of the Assembly,” will honor the 1500th anniversary of Prophet Muhammad’s birth, encouraging spiritual themes. Submissions are due by December 21, with winners receiving cash prizes and recognition, highlighting the cultural significance of Persian poetry.
The 18th International Photo Exhibition of Mehr-e Muharram has launched in Semnan, Iran, celebrating the holy month of Muharram through themes of resistance and sacrifice. Tehran’s City Theater Complex will soon present “The Waltz of Chance,” an adaptation of Victor Haim’s play, directed by Parisa Moqtadi and translated by Asghar Nouri.
