Parliament Honors Legacy: A Heartfelt Tribute to Late President Ebrahim Raisi and Fallen Heroes

The Iranian Parliament has initiated a heartfelt tribute to honor the esteemed Martyrs of Service, commemorating the first anniversary of the tragic helicopter crash that resulted in the loss of then-President Ebrahim Raisi and his companions.

The solemn event, held on Wednesday, gathered senior officials from the Islamic Republic, including:

  • President Masoud Pezeshkian
  • Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf
  • Ministers
  • High-ranking military and security officials
  • Families of the martyrs

On May 19, 2024, President Raisi, alongside Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and six others, tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash in the mountains of East Azerbaijan Province, located in northwestern Iran.

In a touching gesture, President Raisi was laid to rest at the Shrine of Imam Reza (AS) in Mashhad, a significant city in northeastern Iran. Prior to the anniversary of the crash, Pezeshkian took the time to visit the families of the martyrs in their homes, offering his condolences and support.
