Iran’s Foreign Minister Declares: Our Right to Enrichment is Non-Negotiable!
In recent discussions regarding Iran’s nuclear program, Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi firmly stated that Iran will not negotiate its right to enrich uranium. This assertion comes amid ongoing indirect negotiations with the United States, where Araqchi described the demands from the U.S. as “unreasonable and illogical.”
During a ceremony on Tuesday, Araqchi expressed his concerns regarding the conflicting statements made by American officials about Iran’s enrichment program. He highlighted the following key points:
- Unreasonable Demands: Araqchi criticized the U.S. for adopting what he termed entirely unreasonable and illogical stances on Iran’s nuclear activities.
- U.S. Claims: U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff stated that a deal with Iran would not be possible unless the country completely abandoned its uranium enrichment, labeling it a “red line” for the Trump administration.
- Non-Negotiable Enrichment: Araqchi emphasized that Iran’s right to enrich uranium is non-negotiable and swiftly responded to Witkoff’s remarks.
- Upholding Rights: Reflecting the sentiments of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Araqchi affirmed that he and the negotiating team are committed to defending the rights of the Iranian people.
On the same day, Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated that Iran will not seek permission from any nation for its uranium enrichment, urging U.S. officials to stop making unfounded claims.
Currently, Iran and the U.S. have engaged in four rounds of indirect talks, facilitated by Oman, aimed at reaching an agreement to replace the landmark deal that the Trump administration withdrew from during his first term as president.
