Strengthening Regional Ties: Iran and India Collaborate for Mutual Security, Says Top Official
In a recent development, Iran and India are set to enhance their cooperation, which is expected to significantly bolster the interests and security of the entire region. This collaboration is particularly highlighted by the ongoing project at Chabahar Port, a vital strategic hub in southeastern Iran.
During a phone conversation on Sunday, Ali-Akbar Ahmadian, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) of Iran, emphasized the potential benefits of Iran-India collaboration. He noted that both nations, as ancient civilizations, possess the capability to work together in various domains:
- Political cooperation
- Economic collaboration
- Development of Chabahar Port
Ahmadian expressed confidence in the determination of Tehran and New Delhi to strengthen their partnership. In response, Ajit Doval, the National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of India, acknowledged Iran’s significant role in regional stability and emphasized that India’s economic ties with Iran are expected to grow.
