Iran Ready to Boost Diplomatic Efforts, Showcasing Peaceful Intentions of Nuclear Program

The Iranian Foreign Ministry has reaffirmed its commitment to diplomatic dialogue regarding the peaceful nature of its nuclear program. This commitment is crucial as Iran seeks to assert its rights under international treaties while addressing ongoing sanctions.

According to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei, Iran is dedicated to demonstrating the peaceful intentions behind its nuclear energy initiatives. He stated, “Iran is firmly determined to pursue its inalienable lawful rights for peaceful uses of nuclear energy under NPT while fully prepared to continue its diplomatic engagement to ensure the already demonstrated ‘peaceful nature’ of its nuclear program.”

Baqaei also emphasized Iran’s resolve to combat the unlawful and inhumane sanctions imposed on its citizens. He pointed out that the ongoing negotiations are a vital step in this process.

The current diplomatic efforts include:

  • Fourth round of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States.
  • Discussions taking place in Muscat, Oman, focusing on nuclear issues and sanctions.
  • Delegations led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi for Iran and U.S. Special Envoy Steven Witkoff.
  • Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi acting as an intermediary.

In a follow-up post, Baqaei described the discussions as “difficult but useful,” highlighting that they facilitated a better understanding of each side’s positions. He noted, “Next round will be coordinated and announced by Oman.”
