Collaborative Effort: Iran and UNICEF Launch Joint Drug Control Initiative

In recent discussions, Hossein Zolfaghari, the secretary general of the Drug Control Headquarters of the Islamic Republic of Iran, highlighted the importance of establishing a collaborative framework between Iran’s Drug Control Headquarters and UNICEF. This partnership aims to achieve common objectives and ensure effective societal implementation of their initiatives.

During a productive meeting with Monika Oledzka-Nielsen, UNICEF’s Representative in Iran, Zolfaghari expressed his gratitude for the various initiatives UNICEF has undertaken in the country. These initiatives focus on:

  • Parenting education
  • Addiction prevention programs in correctional facilities
  • Mental health and empowerment centers, particularly aimed at girls
  • Training programs for NGOs and their managers

In response, Oledzka-Nielsen praised the ongoing support provided by Iran’s Drug Control Headquarters.
