Explore Iran’s Stunning ‘Tourism Triangle’ at Qatar’s Vibrant Cultural Week!

Iran’s “Tourism Triangle”—comprising the historic cities of Shiraz, Isfahan, and Yazd—was a significant highlight during Iran Cultural Week in Qatar. This event prominently showcased the rich cultural heritage and tourism potential of these cities, positioning them as vital players in promoting Iranian tourism.

Alireza Masah, the head of the Tourism Department at Isfahan Municipality, represented the city at this important gathering. He emphasized the collaborative efforts among these cities, marking this as the second international partnership following their joint presentation at the International Tourism Exhibition. Masah stated, “These three cities, renowned for their historical and cultural significance, serve as the face of Iranian tourism. Their participation in this event offers a unique opportunity to present Iran’s rich heritage to an international audience.”

Isfahan’s participation notably highlighted its celebrated handicrafts, as it proudly holds the title of a UNESCO Creative City of Crafts and Folk Art. Organizers displayed 40 graphic panels featuring Isfahan’s handicrafts, each panel equipped with Arabic subtitles to educate visitors about the city’s artistic legacy. This effort not only promoted Isfahan’s craftsmanship but also aimed to engage a broader audience.

The exhibition extended beyond handicrafts, featuring panels that highlighted key tourism attractions, religious landmarks, and natural and historical sites of Shiraz, Isfahan, and Yazd. This immersive experience offered attendees a comprehensive journey through the cultural heartland of Iran, showcasing its diverse offerings.

As part of Iran Cultural Week, a special ceremony was organized to honor Iranian artists and cultural activists residing in Qatar for their invaluable contributions to the event. This gathering, orchestrated by the Cultural Attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Qatar, attracted 140 Iranian expatriates, alongside Iran’s Ambassador to Qatar, Ali Salehabadi, and Cultural Attaché Ali Bakhtiari.

Bakhtiari expressed his appreciation for the dedication and collaboration of Iranian artists, remarking that their efforts not only showcased Iran’s rich artistic heritage but also facilitated the sale of Iranian handicrafts and artworks, thereby strengthening connections with local audiences. He stated, “The strong participation of Iranian residents was a key factor in the event’s success, underscoring its role in promoting Iranian culture and fostering cultural exchange in Qatar.”

Ambassador Salehabadi echoed Bakhtiari’s sentiments, praising the efforts of the Cultural Attaché and Iranian artists for ensuring the event’s success. He noted the significant public interest at Darb Al-Saai, the venue for the event, emphasizing the role of Iranian expatriates in enhancing cultural diplomacy and strengthening bilateral relations.

In addition to promoting cultural exchange, the ambassador highlighted the impressive sales of Iranian handicrafts and artworks during the event. He stressed the importance of creating economic opportunities within the cultural sector. Concluding his remarks, he advocated for the further development of cultural industries and the empowerment of Iranians residing in Qatar. He expressed optimism regarding the expansion of cultural and artistic initiatives in the future.
