Hamas Signals Willingness for ‘All Outcomes’ Following Trump’s Final Ultimatum

The military wing of the Palestinian Hamas resistance movement has declared its readiness for “all possibilities” and remains on “high alert” as tensions escalate in the region. The Hamas military wing emphasizes that Israel’s threats to resume attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip will not guarantee the release of Israeli captives. Abu Ubaida, the spokesman for al-Qassam Brigades, made these statements in a recent videotaped address.

During the address on Thursday, Abu Ubaida asserted that what the occupying entity has failed to achieve through “weapons and war” cannot be obtained through “threats and deception.” His remarks were made shortly after US President Donald Trump issued a warning that Palestinians in Gaza and Hamas fighters would face dire consequences if they did not promptly release the remaining Israeli captives held in the area.

“Despite the enemy’s violations and betrayals, we remain committed to the prisoner exchange agreement in all its details before the world and the mediators,” Abu Ubaida emphasized. He further stated, “We have decided — and still wish — to uphold this agreement to prevent the shedding of our people’s blood, remove any excuses, and honor the commitments made to mediators.”

Overview of the Gaza Ceasefire

• Israel accepted Hamas’s longstanding negotiation terms under a three-phase Gaza ceasefire beginning on January 19.
• In phase one, which concluded recently, 33 Israeli captives, including eight deceased individuals, were released in exchange for nearly 2,000 Palestinian detainees.
• However, Israel declined to proceed to the second phase of the truce, which aims for a permanent cessation of hostilities, a full withdrawal of occupation forces from Gaza, and the release of all captives.

Abu Ubaida criticized Israel for evading its commitments, stating, “The Israeli enemy has evaded many of its commitments, which are the basic rights of our people, resorting instead to bullying, stalling, and arrogance.” He added that the leaders of the enemy are attempting to bypass the agreement for their political benefits, prioritizing party interests over the lives of captives and seeking American support for aggressive actions.

Abu Ubaida pointed out that the international community has witnessed how the enemy has “exploited Palestinian prisoners,” who have reported “horrifying testimonies” regarding the regime’s “criminal treatment.” Following the conclusion of the first ceasefire phase, Israel blocked all humanitarian aid from entering Gaza, a move that has been condemned as a violation of international law and an act against humanity.

The Path to Stability in the Region

“The Islamic Ummah will not experience peace or stability, nor will it hold a respectable place among nations, until this holy land (Palestine) is cleansed of the Zionist occupiers,” emphasized Abu Ubaida. He highlighted that the quickest route to stability and peace in the region is to “restrain the Zionist regime” and compel it to fulfill its signed commitments.

He warned, “The enemy’s threat to return to war will only push us back into the battlefield to shatter whatever remains of their credibility.” Abu Ubaida characterized the enemy’s threats as a reflection of “weakness and humiliation.” He further noted that “any escalation of aggression will most likely result in the killing of some of the enemy’s captives.”

Recent Conflict Escalation

The conflict took a devastating turn when Israel launched a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, following a historic operation by Hamas in retaliation for intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people. The Tel Aviv regime has failed to meet its stated objectives of freeing captives and eliminating Hamas, despite resulting in the deaths of at least 48,440 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, in Gaza.
